Welcome to the Sussed website about drugs

For many young people, experimenting with drugs is seen as a right of passage. In an ideal world we'd rather people didn't use drugs in a way that caused harm but at Sussed we realise this is the real world and that people have to make their own choices. Preaching doesn't work, telling people not to take drugs without providing honest information is not helpful.

So, at Sussed, we provide honest information about drugs, we talk about the effects drugs have and give advice on how to reduce the harm that drugs can cause. We also show where people can get help for those who feel they need it. We're not promoting drugs, we're just giving the facts so that people can make up their own mind.

We know that Sussed parents and carers have a better chance of talking with young people about drugs if they themselves are informed. For advice on speaking to young people about drugs, check out our Sussed Parents Guide.
